Fall 2015 Mixed Media on Book
This project had an LGBTQ theme to it. I personally related to it. A lot of it has to do with me coming to terms with my sexuality. The black and white pages are about the positive and negative thoughts that were running through my head. The page with the white background is the negative thoughts consuming me and the page with the black background is the positive thoughts shining through the darkness. The reflective page is about me being confused about my sexuality. The page with the colorful people represent the LGBTQ community uniting. The black colored people represent all the people that have failed or didn't quite make it in the fight for equality. The page with four people represents four parts of the LGBTQ community. These parts are Bisexuality, Asexuality, Pansexuality, and Transgender.

December 2015 Batik
My goal for this piece was to make a piece that was abstract and involved darker tones. I wanted the lines to be sharp and angular as to convey a feeling of anger. To create this I painted the fabric with wax and then dyed the fabric. I later added wax a second time and continued dying it. At the end I ironed the wax out of the fabric.

November 2015 Mixed Media on Paper
My goal for this piece was to have multiple people who are the exact same shape but different colors. I wanted to show that people may look different but they are actually built the same way. I also wanted to add depth to my piece.

October 2015 Chip Board, Acrylic Paint, Leaves, and Ink
This is a mixed media print that I made. My goal was to make piece that was about leaves. I decided to use a real leaf in the center. I put printed leaves around the real leaf. I used the printed leaves to represent the idea of mimicry. They are trying to mimic the real leaf. This represents how mimicking is never the same as the real deal.
