Discarded Beauty
May 2016 Mixed Media and Spray Paint
This piece represents the beauty that can be made out of found objects. I wanted to pick colors that would interact with the metallic silver well. I decided to apply the accent color to everything so it would appear as a haze. I really like how all of these interact with each other.

Reclaimed Identity
February 2016 Woodblock Print
This piece was all about the symbol in the center of the prints. The upside down pink triangle represents safe spaces for the LGBTQ community. It was originally used for gay men during the Holocaust. The symbol was reclaimed as to not have a negative meaning. I was interested in where the lines around the triangle connected for the background.

December 2014 Spray Paint and Canvas
This is a piece of street art that I made. The goal of the picture is to bring attention to LGBTQ issues. I used the LGBTQ flag as a prominent image to show this. The birds represent freedom and being on a path to equality. I chose this issue because everyone deserves rights. Your sexual orientation or gender shouldn't effect the rights that you get.

October 2015 Chip Board, Acrylic Paint, Leaves, and Ink
This is a mixed media print that I made. My goal was to make piece that was about leaves. I decided to use a real leaf in the center. I put printed leaves around the real leaf. I used the printed leaves to represent the idea of mimicry. They are trying to mimic the real leaf. This represents how mimicking is never the same as the real deal.

Fall 2015 Acrylic
My goal for this project was to show the unity of the LGBTQ community. This is represented through the rainbow colored people. They also represent the people that have succeeded in the fight for equality. The black colored people represent all the people that have failed or didn't make it to see equality.

Fall 2015 Acrylic and Sharpie
This project is about when I was coming to terms with my sexuality. I did not want it to be real, so I had all these negative thoughts. I was angry and I was also scared. Each word is something that I thought. The black words over the white background are like the darkness of the negativity that was consuming me.
